Wahab had announced an indefinite break from Test cricket in order to prolong his white-ball career but later retracted that decision after backlash from various quarters.

Azhar Ali will captain the group, with Babar Azam taking the role of his deputy.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have named the 20 players who will be considered for selection for their three-match Test series against England.

"Following the conclusion of two four-day intra-squad matches, Pakistan shortlisted the squad for the three-match Test series against England", the PCB said in a release. Mohammad Rizwan has been the first-choice glovesman since.

The 3-Test collection between Pakistan and England will start in Manchester from 5 August. Those nine players are Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Amir, Haider Ali, Fakhar Zaman, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Hasnain and Musa Khan.
