Moderna Phase 1 results show coronavirus vaccine safe, induces immune response

The study will begin its human trials as early as in September

Russia's Sechenov University Successfully Completes Trials of World's 1st COVID-19 Vaccine

According to reports, Chief researcher Elena Smolyarchuk, who heads the Center for Clinical Research on Medications at Sechenov University, told a Russian news agency that the human trials for the vaccine have been completed at the university and they will be discharged soon.

"But it is completely dependent on the results of clinical trials", he said, cautioning that out of the 19 potential vaccines being tested, the most positive outcome would be if just two succeed.

Tarasov said,"Sechenov University has successfully completed tests on volunteers of the world's first vaccine against coronavirus".

Russian Federation has become the first nation to successfully complete human trials of a COVID-19 vaccine, according to media reports.

Photographers snag gorgeous photos of rare comet over BC
Comets are notoriously fickle items that could always break up and burn out at any moment, so fingers crossed. The Comet NEOWISE or C/2020 F3 is noticed above Salgotarjan, Hungary, early Friday, July 10, 2020.

As per the report, he also added that the Institute for Translational Medicine and Biotechnology has worked with preclinical studies, protocol development as well as clinical trials of this new Coronavirus vaccine.

"It's a good first step", said Dr William Schaffner, a vaccine expert at Vanderbilt University Medical Center who was not involved in the study. "We look forward to beginning our Phase 3 study of mRNA-1273 this month to demonstrate our vaccine's ability to significantly reduce the risk of COVID-19 disease". This was more common after the second vaccination, particularly at the highest dose, but none of the side effects were considered serious. For three participants given the highest dose, those reactions were more severe; that dose isn't being pursued.

World Health Organization said the vaccine was still in Phase-1 trials, that means it must undergo 3-4 more trials to be declared safe.

More than half of the participants had side effects, including fatigue, chills, headaches, muscle aches and pain at the injection site. Earlier this month, China's Sinovac had said it entered late-stage development of its vaccine in Brazil, foreign media reported.

Still, if you really need to place a covering, the company advises you make it no thicker than a piece of paper, at 0.1mm. Apple wants you to trust them with the camera indicator light to let you know when the camera is on.

Africa could have a Covid-19 vaccine in the first quarter of 2021 if human trials underway in South Africa succeed, says Shabir Madhi, professor of vaccinology at University of Witwatersrand who is leading the local trial.

It is not clear how long the immune response will protect against COVID-19, but volunteers will be monitored for a year to find out.

Participants of the Phase 3 trial will either receive the vaccine or a placebo. A Phase I trial, typically, involves a smaller subset of volunteers that could range anywhere between 15 and 80 people.

According to the World Health Organization, there are at least 21 vaccines now under trial worldwide whereby every country and every lab is taking a different approach to finding the right solution to stop COVID-19 from conquering the world.
