With the release of the names of more than a dozen officials who asked to have Gen. Michael Flynn's identity "unmasked", the apparent effort to take down President Trump - before he even took office - is starting to look like a broader Team Obama scheme than first thought. "Each individual was an authorized recipient of the original report and the unmasking was approved through NSA's standard process".

Names of Americans are routinely hidden, or minimized, in intelligence reports that describe routine, legal surveillance of foreign targets. "They should testify under oath", said Sen. Comey also made a request on December 15, 2016.

"It sounds like the entire upper circle of President Obama was listening to this", Paul told reporters in Washington after the list was released. For example, if a US person were communicating with a known foreign spy, the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation or a senior counterintelligence official would probably have a need to know that fact and could request the unmasking.

"The documents simply indicate the breadth and depth of concern across the American government, including among career officials, over intelligence reports of Michael Flynn's attempts to undermine ongoing American national security policy through discussions with Russian officials or other foreign representatives", his campaign said in a statement.

The Department of Justice recently dropped its charges against Flynn even though he had twice pleaded guilty of lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation about his communications with Russian Federation before Trump became president.

Paul expressed concern on behalf of players that some organizations could be pressuring players to work out at team facilities, sources said.

The list of officials provided by Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell included Mr. Biden, former FBI Director James B. Comey, and ex-intelligence chiefs John Brennan and James Clapper.

The letter says the list are recipients who may have received Flynn's identity in response to a request processed between November 8, 2016 and January 31, 2017.

Intelligence agencies routinely respond to such "unmasking" requests, which reveal the identities of US individuals who are referred to in documents to allow government officials to better understand what they are reading.

With an eye to re-election, the president has also been blasted as putting his own political interests before human life by aggressively pushing states to reopen their devastated economies without a clear blueprint for how to do it safely.

That question has galvanized the right, as Trump continues to get low marks from the public for his response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Biden and Trump are respectively the Democratic and Republican presumptive presidential nominees for this year's election.

"I have no recollection of making a request related to General Flynn".

He has increasingly lashed out in the year since Mueller's report, which identified substantial contacts between Trump associates and Russian Federation but did not accuse him of a crime or allege a criminal conspiracy between his campaign and the Kremlin.

U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan has yet to rule on the Justice Department's dismissal request and has indicated he is not inclined to do so swiftly.
