After wrapping up the week-long United States tour and displaying a global "statesmanship" at the UNGA in New York, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday arrived at the Palam Airport to a thunderous welcome of thousands of people.

The prime minister returned here on Saturday night from his trip to the U.S. where he addressed the UN General Assembly and the Climate Action Summit, besides several bilateral events, and the "Howdy, Modi!" diaspora gathering.
The meeting between Trump and Modi comes two days after they met on Sunday in Houston and shared the stage at "Howdy, Modi" gala event where they displayed a close friendship and a common vision on fighting terrorism.

Trump earlier Friday denied any wrongdoing and accused the whistle-blower of being "highly partisan", without substantiation. The case concerns the leader's July telephone conversation, after which a complaint was filed two and a half weeks later.

Modi delivered his maiden address as the prime minister to world leaders at the UN General Assembly in 2014.
Modi said that India has chose to rid itself of single use plastic in the next five years and bring potable water to 15 crore households, besides building roads in the far flung villages.
