A Florida truck driver and her husband stopped at Tiger Truck Stop - a truck stop known for exhibiting exotic animals - in Grosse Tete, where they let their deaf dog out of the truck for a rest break, The Advocate reported.
The woman's husband began throwing treats to their dog underneath Caspar's fence. The dog, according to Stassi, ran under the double barbed wire fencing that fenced off the enclosure of the camel. The couple and their dog upset the camel, and it eventually sat on the woman.
"I bit his balls to get him off of me", the unnamed woman told authorities, according to Iberville Parish Deputy Louis Hamilton Jr.
Caspar The Camel
The showdown between the woman, who wasn't identified, and Caspar the camel, a roadside attraction, happened Thursday at a truck stop in Gross Tete, about 20 minutes outside Baton Rouge. The Advocate said there were signs warning visitors to stay out of the enclosure.
"What happened Wednesday was kind of really insane", she told local news station WBRZ.
Following an investigation, police learned the woman had allegedly provoked the camel, Hamilton told The Advocate.
The couple chased after the dog into the enclosure, meeting an agitated camel, who is named Caspar. At one point, a tiger was on the premises. "And he just said, 'I wasn't thinking'". Caspar was brought in past year as Tony's replacement, the Washington Post reports.
49ers vs. Steelers: 6 players to watch on defense
So far in the young season, the Steelers' Ben Roethlisberger is out for the year, while the Colts saw Andrew Luck retire. Pittsburgh revealed that Conner's injury shouldn't result in a long-term absence.
She also said Caspar's behavior was "instinct" because he had been provoked.
"The camel has never been aggressive, the camel has never gotten out, never caused any issues - in fact, the husband and wife stated before that we've been here before and we've never had any problems", the deputy explained.
"My only question to her husband was: 'Why did you throw the doggy treat under the fence?'" Hamilton went on to tell the publication.
"He's really a gentle giant", she said of Caspar.
